COPYRIGHT RELEASE ION PROCEEDINGS & MEDIA AUTHORIZATION/LICENSE
PACIFIC PNT 2021 MEETING
Signing of Statement A or Statement B is required except that employees of governments other than the U.S. Government may submit
equivalent statements. It is essential that the Institute of Navigation (ION) and its agents or assignees have the right of publication and
reproduction.

STATEMENT A:
The undersigned Copyright Owner, desiring to publish a Work, including all expressions thereof, in printed, audio, video, electronic, and other forms
(collectively, the Work) in ION Proceedings and/or to otherwise make available the Work, hereby grants to ION the following rights in exchange for good
and valuable consideration, the sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged and agreed to by the Copyright Owner:
1.) The exclusive, royalty-free right of first publication, performance, and display in any media (including but not limited to any audio/video recording), which
such right(s) ION may undertake or exploit through any of its conference proceedings or any ION publication(s) (including NAVIGATION: Journal of the
Institute of Navigation) for six months from date of initial presentation of the Work by ION. If the Work is selected for publication in NAVIGATION: Journal
of the Institute of Navigation, a separate copyright agreement shall be required (prior to such publication) and the copyright for the Work shall be
permanently owned by ION. Further, if ION wishes to make use of an audio/video recording of the Work (made or to be made available by the
undersigned), the undersigned shall provide a complete copy of such recording (in a timely manner and in a mutually agreeable format) or an active link
(and any update thereto) to an online site or location from which the recording can be made freely available by ION (in ION’s discretion).
2.) Royalty-free right of publication and distribution of the Work (and any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) directly or indirectly by ION
and through any medium or platform throughout the world.
3.) A non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to reprint, display, perform, or reproduce and/or provide in
print, audio/video, or electronic format the above Work in any media (including audio/video recording(s)), either in excerpt, in summary, or in
completed form, for free or in exchange for a fee after the six month exclusive period has expired.
Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the Copyright Owner further authorizes ION to edit the Work and to publish the Copyright Owner’s
name, photograph and biographical information in connection with ION’s use and promotion of the Work, and ION agrees to recognize the author as
the creator of the Work.
Copyright Owner reserves all rights not specifically granted to ION herein and has the right after the Paper has been published, to reprint the Paper in any
publication six months after presentation, provided that the terms of such republication do not conflict with the grants herein or any other copyright
agreement(s). Copyright Owner agrees to include the proper credit to ION for prior publication of the Work in any reprint of the Work in a publication, including
date (month and year) and location (city and state) of the meeting at which the Work was presented.
Copyright Owner represents and warrants that the Work (and any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) is original with him/her, that its
publication, display, or performance (including, of any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) will not infringe, misappropriate, or violate the
rights of others; that the Work (and any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) is factually accurate and contains no defamatory or otherwise
unlawful material; that the Copyright Owner has not previously in any manner disposed of any of the rights herein granted to ION nor previously granted any
rights adverse thereto or inconsistent therewith; that there are no rights outstanding which would diminish, encumber or impair the full enjoyment or exercise
of the rights herein granted to ION; and that Copyright Owner has full power to make this agreement and the grants herein. Copyright Owner further
represents and warrants that the Work (and any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) has not been published or distributed elsewhere in
whole or in part (except as set out in a rider attached thereto if applicable) and that no agreement to publish or distribute the Work or any part or version
thereof (including any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) is outstanding or will be made in violation of the foregoing. Should the Work (or
any recording thereof made available by the undersigned) contain any material which requires permission for inclusion in the Work or use by ION, Copyright
Owner agrees to obtain such permission in writing and provide a copy of such permission to ION.
The Copyright Owner agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ION, its officers, directors, employees, and agents, from and against any and all claims, actions,
losses, demands, costs, attorneys’ fees and all other expenses relating or incidental to, or arising directly or indirectly from, the inaccuracy or breach of any of
the aforementioned warranties and representations.

STATEMENT B:
U.S. GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE CERTIFICATION AND TRANSFER OF INTERNATIONAL COPYRIGHT
This will certify that all authors of the Work are U.S. Government employees and prepared the Work on a subject within the scope of their official
duties. As such, the Work is not subject to U.S. copyright protection. However, the undersigned herewith acknowledges that the ION is granted an
irrevocable, exclusive, royalty-free, non-assignable, worldwide license to adapt, reproduce, print, publish, make derivative works, and make available
the Work in any media, whether now known or hereinafter created, including, but not limited to, print, digital, and electronic formats for any lawful
purposes.

CROWN:
This will certify that all authors of the Work are employees of the British or a British Commonwealth Government and prepared the Work in connection
with their official duties. As such, the Work is subject to Crown Copyright and is not assigned to the ION. However, the undersigned herewith
acknowledges that the ION is granted an irrevocable, exclusive, royalty-free, non-assignable, worldwide license to adapt, reproduce, print, publish,
make derivative works, and make available the Work in any media, whether now known or hereinafter created, including, but not limited to, print,
digital, and electronic formats for any lawful purposes. This license shall not modify the ownership of the intellectual property rights contained within
the Work (including but not limited to patent, trademark rights and copyright) which shall rest with the British Crown Government.

EU:
This will certify that all authors of the Work are employees of the European Union and prepared the Work in connection with their official duties. As
such, the copyright in the Work may be vested in the European Union and, insofar as it is vested in the European Union, is not assigned to the ION.
However, the undersigned herewith acknowledges that (to the extent that the rights in the copyright are not assigned to it under this Copyright and
Consent Form) the ION is granted a personal, royalty-free, non-assignable, worldwide, sole license to adapt, reproduce, print, publish, and make
available the Work on any media, including print, digital, and electronic formats , for any purpose, including commercial purposes, on terms that all
intellectual property rights therein - including but not limited to patent, trademark rights and copyright-rest with the European Union.
