Changing the mode
This watch features four different modes (functions).
TME
Shows ordinary time.
L-TM
Shows time and calendar different from those shown in the [TME] mode.
CHR
Mode for using the chronograph.
ALM
Mode for setting the alarm.

Pull the crown out to position

The second hand points the 30-second and stops.
2.
Rotate the crown to change the mode.
Turn the crown so that the mode hand points to the marker of the desired
mode securely.
3.
Push the crown in to position
0
to finish the procedure.
The watch changes indication according to the selected mode.
It may take a moment for the watch to complete changing indication.
Checking the power reserve
1.
Change the mode to [TME] or [L-TM] and push the crown in to

CITIZEN Bluetooth Watch W770 Abbreviated instruction
Before connecting with a smartphone
This watch communicates with smartphones
through Bluetooth Low Energy power-saving
communication technology.
You must install the dedicated app “CITIZEN
Bluetooth Watch” on your smartphone and start it
to make pairing (registration) between the phone
and the watch to connect them.
The flow of connection is as follows.
* The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are registered trademarks
owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc.
* Android is a trademark of Google Inc.
* iOS is a name of an operating system of Apple Inc. IOS is a
trademark or registered trademark of Cisco in the U.S. and
other countries and is used under license.
Compatible smartphones
You can see information about compatible smartphones (running Android OS 5.1/
iOS 9.3 or later, Optimized for iPhone 5 or greater.) and the dedicated app on the
web site below:

This watch can somewhat be operated through the dedicated app and it is
equipped with functions available only through the app.
Notice
In places with restriction on the use of electronic devices such as in a airplane,
terminate connection with your smartphone and change the mode of the watch to
[CHR].
Time information reception
This watch can receive time information from your smartphone and adjust
the time and calendar automatically (automatic time information reception).
Automatic time information reception is executed at the first cancelation of power
save status every day (after 3:00 AM of the [TME] mode on the watch).
Even when the watch is disconnected with a connectable smartphone, it is
temporary connected with the phone and get time information.
Automatic time information reception function does not work in the following
cases:
When the mode of the watch is not [TME] or [L-TM].
[Time Sync] setting of the dedicated app is off.
Notification indication on the watch
The second hand points the notification indication corresponding to the type of
received notification.

The notification indication by the second hand is shown only when the mode
of the watch is [TME] or [L-TM] and the position of the crown is
0
. When the
watch receives notification in statuses other than above, notification indication
is postponed until its status changes to any one above.
When the watch receives a new notification while it indicates a notification, the
old one is canceled and the new one is indicated.

Notification sound and vibration
Notification sound and vibration can be activated by using [Notification] setting
on the app in addition to the indication of the second hand.
Notification by sound or vibration will occur even when the second hand cannot
indicate notification. In addition, notification sound and vibration occurs again
with notification indication by the second hand when the hand indication was
postponed.
Notification reception area
Connection range between the watch and the smartphone is up to about 10 m (33
feet). The range may be shorter due to obstacles such as walls.
Do not block the watch with your body such as your arm.
Canceling the notification indication
The second hand showing notification indication does not return to indicate the
seconds until the indication is canceled.
Once manually canceled, notification indication cannot be shown again.

The notification indication is canceled and the second hand returns to
indicate the seconds.
Changing the position of the crown also cancels the notification indication.
Testing the notification vibration
The notification vibration feature can be checked.
You cannot test it while the power reserve level is in “0”.
The vibration settings must be executed from the app.

Notification vibration is repeated five times.

Pairing (registering) the smartphone
Execute registration at first when connecting the watch and your smartphone.
Before registration
Unique registration information is saved on the watch and smartphone as
registration is executed.
Up to three registrations can be saved on the watch with choosing saving
destination. Saved registration information can be checked on the app.
When you have two or more registered smartphones, you can switch saved
registration information to connect/disconnect one.
New registration information cannot be saved on the saving destination
containing one without deleting the existing one.
Choosing the destination to save registration information

currently chosen and the function hand indicates connection status (ON/

Choosing a smartphone and connecting to it
Way to choose registration information of a smartphone from three saving
destinations and connect the watch to it.
The watch cannot be connected with two or more smartphones at the same
time.

Finding my smartphone
You can make the smartphone currently chosen as the connection target emit
sound when it is in connectable range.
This function is available even when the phone is not connected.
Cancel the notification indication of the second hand before disconnecting.

The smartphone will start emitting sound.
The sound does not stop until it is stopped on the smartphone.

Registering a smartphone
For registration, you have to operate both the watch and the smartphone.
Be sure both the watch and smartphone are sufficiently charged. Especially, it is
important to check power reserve of the watch and charge it before registration
if the power reserve level is “1” or “0”.
Registration operation on the watch must be completed within a certain period
of time. If about 30 seconds have elapsed before finishing operation, the watch
returns to normal movement.

Download the dedicated app “CITIZEN Bluetooth Watch at an
app site and install it.
2.
Start the dedicated app.
Keep the app showing on the smartphone screen.
Agree when a dialog appears to request your permission to use Bluetooth
connection.

4.
Press and release the upper right button

The second hand points “ACT (40-second position)” and registration starts.
The smartphone will be connected if it has already been registered before.

It may take about 20 - 30 seconds to finish registration.

When registration is successful
The function hand of the watch will point “ON” of connection status and the
second hand returns to indicate the seconds.
In the cases below, registration is not successful:
The second hand of the watch points “LL (45-second position)”.
The second hand of the watch points “ACT (40-second position” and returns to
indicate the seconds and the function hand does not point “ON” of connection
status.

Removing pairing (registration) information
After pairing (registering), the watch and the smartphone store registration
information of each other.
You must remove the registration information from both the watch and the
smartphone in the following cases:
When registration information is lost either on the watch or the smartphone.
When you want to save registration information of the smartphone on another
saving destination.
When the app has been updated or reinstalled.
When you cannot reconnect the watch and smartphone after registration even
after following the correct steps.
To remove the registration information on the watch
1.
Change the mode to [TME] and pull the crown out to position

.
The second hand points the registration information currently chosen and
the function hand indicates connection status (ON/OFF).
2.
Rotate the crown to choose registration information to remove.
3.
Press and hold the upper right button

for about 7 seconds.
The second hand turns fully around and removing is finished.
4.
Push the crown in to position

to finish the procedure.
Removing registration information on the smartphone
1.
Remove “Eco-Drive W770” from the list of registered Bluetooth
devices on the smartphone.
Using local time [Local Time]
An alternate time which is different from that in the [TME] mode (local time) can
be shown.
Local time can be set within a range of ±27 hours from UTC (Coordinated
Universal Time).
Indication of date and day of week changes corresponding to local time set.
Indicating local time
1.
Change the mode to [L-TM] and push the crown in to position

The local time currently set is displayed.

Adjusting the local time
1.
Change the mode to [L-TM] and pull the crown out to position

The second hand points 0 second and the local time is displayed.

Rotate the crown to adjust the local time.
The minute hand moves in 15 minute increments.
When you rotate the crown quickly a few times, the hands/indication will
move continuously.
To stop the rapid movement, rotate the crown in either direction. They stop
automatically after moving ±12 hours.
3.
Push the crown in to position
0
to finish the procedure.
Using the chronograph
The chronograph on this watch can measure up to 60 minutes by 1 second.
After 60 minutes of continuous chronograph operation, the chronograph
automatically stops and is reset.
Indication of the function hand cannot be changed in the [CHR] mode.

Change the mode to [CHR] and push the crown in to position

The second hand and function hand indicate 0’ 0”. The other hands and
indication keep showing time in the [TME] mode.

The hour, minute and 24-hour hands indicate the alarm time currently set
and the function hand shows the alarm setting (ALM ON/OFF).
