Inspired by the Negro Motorist Green Book — published annually
by New York City mailman Victor H. Green during the Jim Crow era
to promote businesses friendly to African American and other non-
white travelers — this directory includes a list of local Black-owned
retail, restaurants, professionals, cultural experiences and more.
This directory is not meant to be comprehensive, but every eort
was made to identify, verify and include as many entries as possible.
Thank you to everyone who published articles, databases and
guides to Black-owned OC businesses before, during and after the
2020 George Floyd protests. Special thanks to the Young Black Pro-
