across the worlds of Disney. The biannual event in Anaheim
encompasses three days packed with stars and storytellers,
sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes moments, thrilling

at Halloween they come out to play at the Disneyland® Resort.

good fun. Throughout the Resort there are plenty of sights to
make you howl with delight, including seeing some favorite
Characters all decked out in brand-new costumes created for
the season.
FRIGHTFUL DELIGHTS AT DISNEY
CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE® PARK
Oogie Boogie’s ominous silhouette above the Park turnstile,
Buena Vista Street decked out in eerie shades of purple and
green and villainous projections at Carthay Circle set the
tone for Halloween at Disney California Adventure® Park.
Cruise over to Cars Land to see how the residents of Radiator
Springs have transformed it into “Radiator Screams.” Feeling
daring? Race with Rocket to rescue Groot at Guardians of
the Galaxy—Monsters After Dark. But in between chasing
monsters, take time to enjoy a fiesta of color and music at
the Día de los Muertos celebration at Paradise Gardens Park,
where you can enjoy the music of Coco. Then, catch Mickey’s
Trick ‘n’ Treat Show at Disney Junior Dance Party which is
perfect for youngsters who will love the friendly spirit Mickey
brings to the season! And, after all that adventuring, treat
yourself to devilishly delicious Halloween treats throughout
the Park. Be sure to take time to check out some frightfully
delightful Halloween-themed merchandise from t-shirts to
décor and more. It’s a great way to bring home a memory of
the boo-tiful time you’ve had.
When the sun goes down, more frightful fun kicks in at Oogie
Boogie Bash, a separately-ticketed event on select nights from
August 24

. Oogie Boogie has invited his
friends to hang out on several dierent treat trails. You’ll also
meet some favorite baddies, plus several new ones each year.
And see some favorite mischief makers in the Frightfully Fun

Say hello to Miguel from Coco at the Día de los Muertos

time at the Parks,” Rush says. “There’s a dierent energy. It’s a

The 2024 EPCOT® International Food & Wine Festival will
feature new marketplaces. “The marketplace selections
will focus on fall foods and flavors,” Downing says. “We are
going beyond the usual seasonal ingredients like apples and
pumpkins and using other foods that capture the flavors in
unique ways, such as a brined pork tenderloin with fennel
slaw at Autumn Blaze and a wild game chili at Harvest
Table, both new marketplaces.”
“I am always excited about the creative process that goes
into the Festival,” he concludes. “When we get to opening
day, there’s an electricity in the air, an energy from the
Guests and the Cast Members. It’s thrilling to walk through
the Park and hear the buzz of excitement everywhere.”
And then, they begin planning all over again for next year!

Every year, the EPCOT® International Food & Wine Festival
attracts Guests who are eager to sample both tantalizing
new tastes and returning favorite foods and beverages,
representing countries from around the world. But, what
does it take to go from planning and prepping to plating?
“Planning for our next festival begins the moment we
open the current festival,” says Kevin Downing, Chef de
Cuisine for EPCOT® Festivals. “We ask ourselves, ‘what
dishes were a big hit with Guests at previous festivals and
which of them should we bring back?’ There are some
menu items that are so popular that if we didn’t oer
them, Guests would definitely let us know!” This is also
the time when new marketplaces are planned, as well as
ideas for refreshing existing ones. Next comes the tasting
and testing, as a group of eight talented and diverse
sous chefs begin creating dishes. “We are looking for
interesting ingredient choices, unexpected flavor combinations
and something that makes each dish unique,” Downing says.
“It’s an exciting creative process.”
Based on those tastings, menus are finalized and logistics
kick in—big time. “We need to order ingredients for literally
thousands of servings of each dish during the Festival,”
Downing says. “How many tons of sweet potatoes, how many
hundreds of crates of berries?” This is not your usual grocery
shopping list!
Meanwhile, other teams are bringing their magic touch to
creating unique oerings that add their own special seasoning
to the event, while other teams are designing beautiful Festival
merchandise, marketplace décor and more. “The Festival is
a huge team eort,” Downing says. “Everyone is invested in
making it a superb experience for Guests.”

Prepare for fast and furious action—
and a barrage of comedic quips when
Wade/Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and
Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman)
team up for the first time in Deadpool
& Wolverine. It’s an unexpected
combination because the two classic
comic book Super Heroes have never
exactly been “besties.” But when
Wolverine, who is recovering from
injuries, crosses paths with loudmouth
Deadpool, the two must team up to
defeat a common enemy. We chatted
with Wendy Jacobson to get the
scoop on this highly anticipated film.
Q: WHAT MAKES DEADPOOL
& WOLVERINE A GREAT
ENTERTAINMENT EXPERIENCE?
A: Well, it’s an exciting Super Hero
action picture, of course, and it’s
packed with humor. Deadpool’s super
power is his ability to heal—and maybe
his relentless wisecracking. He “breaks
the fourth wall” constantly when
he steps out of the story to make
comments to the audience. They’re
sarcastic, snarky, funny and they add a
sharp, edgy humor to the film.
Q: TELL US HOW THE
CHARACTER, WADE WILSON
(DEADPOOL), EVOLVES IN
THIS FILM.
A: The first Deadpool movie was a
love story. Deadpool 2 was about
family. I can’t give much away about
Wade’s emotional journey in this new
film, but we are definitely venturing
into new territory.
Q: WHAT CAN AUDIENCES
EXPECT FROM THE ACTION
SEQUENCES?
A: The action sequences are very
inventive and visceral. Audiences will
see action like they’ve never seen
before, and I think minds will be blown!
Additionally, we wanted the film to be
as authentic as possible, so a lot of it
was shot on location.
Q: WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE TO
WORK WITH RYAN REYNOLDS
AND HUGH JACKMAN?
A: They are both comedic geniuses
and brilliant actors. Working with them
has been like taking a master class in
comedic writing and acting. Plus, it’s
amazing to see these two gigantic
movie stars on screen together.
Q: WHAT GIVES THE MARVEL
STORIES SO MUCH POWER OVER
OUR IMAGINATIONS?
A: In every Marvel film, there’s a
human element and angle that makes
the stories relatable to ordinary people.
