ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Pre-Admission Exam Information

All students applying to the Associate Degree Nursing Program, the Practical Nursing Studies Diploma
Program, or the LPN/Paramedic Advanced Placement Program are required to take the ATI TEAS Pre-
Admission Exam. The TEAS exam is a standardized entrance exam for potential nursing students seeking
admission to nursing schools nationwide. The TEAS is a computer-based, timed exam which takes
approximately 209 minutes to complete. The tests consist of 170 total questions in the following
categories: Math (22%), Science (31%), Reading (31%), and English & Language usage (16%).
At the Owens Campus Testing Center, the TEAS exam is administered Monday through Friday with the
following scheduled start times.
a. On Monday and Tuesday, the ATI TEAS exam will start at 2:00 PM.
b. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the ATI TEAS exam will start at 10:00 AM.

Prospective nursing students should contact the Testing Center directly by phone, email or in person to
schedule their TEAS exam. All examinees will be required to pay a $119.00 non-refundable exam fee
each time they take the exam. It is important to note that the exam fee is valid only for the semester in
which it is paid. In the event that an appointment is not scheduled within this time frame, the fee will
be forfeited. Additionally, examinees must wait at least one month between testing attempts.
a. Payment can be made by calling (302) 259-6330 or in person at the Workforce Development and
Community Education Registration Office, located in the main lobby of the Carter Partnership
Building, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Prior to the exam, all examinees should create an account with ATI testing by visiting
www.atitesting.com. Delaware Technical Community College (DTCC) students should register using their
DTCC email address for their account. It is recommended that participants arrive fifteen minutes before
their scheduled exam time with proof of payment, identification and login credentials for their ATI

Understanding Your ATI TEAS® Score
The total score will be used as part of the ranking process for applicants, and a minimum of 58.7% total
score is required to apply for clinical nursing courses. This score will be included on your Student
